MAQUET Surgical Workplaces, a leading name in technical innovation for operating theatre equipment, announced today that it has launched two new products, TRIOP and VOLISTA, which are designed to improve the flexibility and performance of the operating theatre for hospitals and surgeons.
A combination of the Magnus OR table system from Maquet and the Artis zeego® angiography system from Siemens Healthcare will provide hospitals with interdisciplinary, flexible use of the hybrid OR enabling optimal patient care.
Maquet the global leader in OR complete solutions and Siemens Healthcare Sector will now collaborate closely to introduce a combined system for diagnostics and surgical procedures. The very first systems will be delivered and installed starting in May 2012.
The all-new website, www.maquet-hybridoperatingroom.com, by solution provider Maquet offers extensive examples and information on planning a hybrid operating room.
Rastatt, Germany - July 2011 - Maquet, the medical engineering and workflow specialist, presents its latest mobile operating table: The Yuno OTN. It was specifically developed to enable all surgical procedures to the upper and lower parts of the skeleton to be carried out on just a single operating table and with the very highest degree of precision.
Rastatt, Germany - MArch 2011 - Maquet announces that Siemens Healthcare will integrate Maquet’s operating table Magnus in its Artis zeego and Artis zee ceiling interventional systems.
Rastatt, Germany - November 2010 - The first thing a layperson associates with the term “hybrid” is the car. The hybrid car has an internal combustion engine as well as an electric motor with an energy storage device. In numerous other technologies "from clock to hard drive", this term also describes the pooling of several positive features for the benefit of the user. In the case of the hybrid operating theater, patients are the ones who benefit most, followed by physicians and hospitals.
Rastatt, Germany - October 2010 - “You must not fool yourself – this is a big project in need of a lot of coordination”, describes Andreas Lauinger, technical director and authorized signatory for the Heart Surgery Clinic in Karlsruhe, his experience with the construction of the local hybrid OR. The implementation in Karlsruhe only took 15 months which shows that the project coordination was well thought through. The hybrid OR - in this case a synthesis of operating theater for heart surgery and fully equipped cardiac catheter laboratory – is a highly complex structure, considering the planning and technical process.
Rastatt, Germany - October 2010 - It is the heart itself which sets the rhythm for Maquet’s presentation in Hall 12, Stand 50/51: Its “da-dam” on a darkened stage leads us at a stroke right into the topic. This sound is joined by other heart rhythms until the visitor is acoustically enveloped by the event. This impression of being “right at the heart of things rather than just a spectator” is achieved with the second main theme, lung therapies, thanks to the use of breathing sounds.
Rastatt, Germany - September 2010 - Suitable working conditions for the surgical team are a fundamental prerequisite for ensuring that operations are performed ergonomically and safely. This applies to the entire surgical area but in particular to the operating table. A study¹ revealed that 45% of the surgeons interviewed had to use a step during surgery to compensate for the height of the operating table.
Rastatt, Germany - August 2010 - With the new Trimano 3D support arm, Maquet, the workflow specialists, are able to further expand their already extensive product portfolio in the field of assist systems and OR accessories. The assist system is deployed as a “third hand” for the surgeon, in orthopaedics and traumatology. It has been specially developed for operations to the shoulder and upper arm area.
Rastatt, Germany - July 2010 - Hospitals increasingly need to have constant access to OR tables that meet the growing demands of the different surgical disciplines and, at the same time, enable multifunctional application options. Maquet, the Medical Technology and Workflow specialists have the solution, the new Alphastar Pro OR table.
Rastatt, Germany - July 2009 - Optimised usage of patient-related image and data sources in the OR, simple equipment operation, full integration in the clinic's IT workflow and compatibility with existing equipment and systems are the core demands when it comes to digital ORintegration. MAQUET fulfils these expectations with AV CONFERENCE. OR teams are already using AV CONFERENCE systems around the world, as the hub for digital communication in the OR.
Rastatt, Germany - June 2009 - According to the World Health Organisation, some 3 million people across the world require artificial hips as primary joint replacement surgery. Demographic developments are expected to cause a sharp rise in these figures in the coming years. Increasingly, surgeons are using minimally-invasive procedures to implant artificial hips, with direct anterior access.
Rastatt, Germany - April 2009 - 160 kilograms is a weight which not just jeopardizes the personal operating risk of the patient, but also the efficacy of surgical procedures on traditional operating tables.
